WordPress 4.6 “Pepper” is released

WordPress 4.6, having the nickname “Pepper” in honor of baritone saxophonist Park Frederick “Pepper” Adams III, was released and is now available for download or update in your WordPress dashboard. We strongly encourage you to update your sites immediately.
WordPress 4.6 features several major upgrades, including:
- Streamlined Updates: From now on you stay on the same page while you update, install, and delete your plugins and themes.
- Native Fonts: Pepper will use the fonts you already have, which will make them load faster than ever before.
- Inline Link Checker: Now WordPress automatically checks all your links before you publish.
- Content Recovery: With WordPress 4.6 you can recover your saved content even easier.
- Robust Requests: The HTTP API now leverages the Requests library.
- Meta Registration API has been expanded to support types, descriptions, and REST API visibility.
- JavaScript Library Updates.
- Customizer APIs for Setting Validation and Notifications.
- Multisite, now faster than ever.
